This former mine is now a unique, not-to-be-missed park — a community gem that is both educational and fun. There are things for all ages to enjoy, including a mining-themed playground, signs about history and geology/mining, antique mining artifacts, hiking trails, a 9-hole disc golf course, and picnic pavilions. Noftsgar Hill Sports Complex is located on the corner of East St. and North St. The complex is home to one regulation size little league baseball field and a dog park. The baseball field has its own pressbox, concession stand, and restroom facilities, as well as a score board and stadium lights all available for use upon request. The dog park at Noftsgar Hill is the only one within the Globe City Limits. Patrons wishing to use the dog park must clean up after their pets as well as adhere to the posted rules at the park.

The Gila County Museum, is located on the OLD West Highway in Globe. We’re in the 1920 Mine Rescue Station, and it’s all about history and service. The research library is one of the best places to find information on lost relatives or locating history on the local mining industry. The research volunteers will work with you to find the information you need. The history greeters are here to make your stay a fun filled time. They will assist you as you spend time at the Mine Rescue Station, The Gila County Museum its history and fun!
Check out fun facts and the wonderful history of Globe, Arizona, established circa 1870s. There’s so much to explore in our historic downtown including the 1910 Territorial Sheriff’s Office & Jail, and the 1916 Train Depot Complex which both have museum artifacts onsite.
